Rise to Rail Mixed Surface Ride & Social
Description
The 2nd annual Rise to Rail Mixed Surface Ride & Social is on September 21, 2024. Join us for a day of riding bikes and socializing as we rise over Big Mountain to explore the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail. This mixed surface ride features some of Utah's iconic paved roads, gravel roads, and singletrack outside Salt Lake City's backdoor.
Post-ride is the Social with food, beverages, and product giveaways. Join us for a challenging but fun day on the bike. Meet the Snēk family, and mingle with others.

Course Info
- THIS IS A SELF-GUIDED & SELF SUPPORTED RIDE. DOWNLOAD THE COURSE MAPS BELOW. There is no support on the course and the route is NOT marked. Make sure to download the GPS route below. Two-course options are available.
- Rise To Rail Course: 103 miles, 8,200 vert. - Download Here
- Rise Course: 61 miles, 6,200 vert. - Download Here
- A Gravel Bike with min. of 38c tires is recommended. We'll ride paved roads, dirt roads, and some singletrack. 60% paved, 40% unpaved. There are a few short rocky singletrack sections. Slow down, pick your way, and have fun. Remember to freshen up your tire sealant before the ride. Some thorn goat heads have been known to make an appearance this time of year. The last thing you'll want is a flat.
- Snēk is not responsible for any incidents, injuries or mishaps. This is a "ride at your own risk" event.
- Ride at the pace you're comfortable with. We'll meet back at the house for food, stories, and post-ride high fives.
- Obey traffic laws: This is an open course, watch for cars and obey traffic laws.
Feed Zones
Feed Zone Locations: We provide one fully stocked feed zone which includes First Endurance nutrition and other sweat and salty Snēk snacks. Otherwise, gas stations & watering holes are your feed zones. There are plenty of places to stop along the way. The list is below. Make sure to be courteous to staff at these refuel locations.
